With the confirmation that Elon Musk had his proposal to buy Twitter approved and could soon be the new owner of the company, many people on the social network have already started a stampede movement: the hashtag “RIPTwitter” (rest in peace, Twitter) quickly rose to the most commented topics on the platform on Monday afternoon (25).
Influencers heard by Tilt already expressed fear for what could happen to the social network if Musk completed the acquisition, and there were those who raised doubts about the quality of content that will circulate through the feed if the billionaire’s proposal for “total freedom of expression” became the new norm. Therefore, many people promised to leave the social network.

I hope I’m wrong, but given the view he now propagates about how such a platform should be managed, the only possible defense for Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter is to abandon the space and make it irrelevant. The only salvation is for Twitter to end.

This Monday, hours before making the deal official, Musk even made an appeal to anyone thinking about leaving the social network: “I hope even my worst critics stay on Twitter, because that’s what freedom of speech means,” tweeted the billionaire. .

If you’re not convinced by Musk’s proposal, if you think the network will get worse under the businessman’s command, or if you just have other reasons to delete your account on the social network, check out the tutorial in the following paragraphs.
Step by step
To log out of Twitter, it’s simple: in the web version of your profile, click on the “More” option in the menu on the left side of the screen.
A new menu will open, with the option “Settings and privacy”. Access it. In the right part of the screen, a third menu will open, with several options. The first one, “Your account”, will have as its last option “Deactivate your account”. By clicking on it, Twitter explains that you can leave your profile deactivated for up to 30 days. Within that period, you can reactivate it at any time by simply logging in.
However, after these 30 days, if you have not accessed the profile at any time, the account will be permanently deleted. That is, there is a time for you to repent and return, without losing your profile.
Once the decision is made, click on “Disable”. Twitter will ask you to enter your password, and once you have done so, you must click “Deactivate” again to log out.
