I’ve been writing for over 30 years. It has always been my pleasure to share my thoughts with readers. Some agree with my opinions, others don’t. No problem. As long as I contribute to the topics being discussed, I’m happy.
I confess, however, that lately my pen has the handbrake on. I’m afraid to speak my mind. I never had this concern. With prudence, I freely expressed my ideas. Not now. With each paragraph, I need to assess whether I am committing some impropriety.
I even deleted an entire text just for self-censorship. I do not fail to share my theses with readers, but I am careful to use between the lines a lot. Those who read the article to the letter, sometimes do not understand what is behind the face-to-face information. Whoever lifts the veil of letters, however, understands that there is another message hidden in the words.
it’s laborious
Tired. The ideal would be to put my thoughts on paper, in fact, on screen, without restrictions. In other words, it would be wonderful if I could have the freedom to produce my writings without having to censor myself. It is no use, however, trying to be more realistic than the king. That’s how the system works, and while I’m not lying, if I want to participate in it, I must fit in.
The news of Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter brought me and anyone who yearns for freedom a breath of hope. The Tesla CEO, who is also one of the richest people in the world, spent a trifle of $44 billion on the purchase of Twitter. Multiply that astronomical figure by five or so and see how much you get in real. It’s money that never ends.
breath of hope
Why this positive expectation? He has always been adept at free speech as the basis for a functioning democracy. He defended from the beginning that Twitter is a kind of town square. That place where matters are discussed without barriers. Only in this case in a virtual way. It is with such scope that the relevant themes can positively influence the future of humanity.
More freedom
At a time when people are terrified of the censorship of the powerful media, and avoid saying “war”, “vaccine”, “China”, “drugs”, “cocaine” and so many other terms that can bring your pages down, with this possible freedom that lies ahead, they will be able to act without restrictions. The market itself will make the selection of what is true or not. Than gratuitous aggression or blunt opinion.
Let’s wait. In a short time we will know if this defense of freedom of expression was just speech or if it truly defended a principle of life. As I have seen many people who like to applaud censorship with the flea behind their ear, everything indicates that the tycoon will put into practice what he has always preached with words.
