To accelerate the productivity of European fleet owners and assist in the transition to electrification, Ford launched a complete ecosystem called Ford Pro, which offers integrated solutions to the brand’s commercial vehicle customers.
Coinciding with the official launch of E-Transit, Ford introduced a complete solution for small business owners and large fleet owners that combines software, charging, service and financing for commercial vehicles.
Called Ford Pro, it was designed so that the customer only has to worry about his business, leaving everything directly or indirectly related to the brand.
Ford Pro is designed to help customers manage their fleets more efficiently, whether they are using diesel, gasoline, electric or even other brands of vehicles. In the United States, where this complete ecosystem was launched at the beginning of the year, it was demonstrated that the network effect of integrated solutions, with fleet management tools based on online platforms, can reduce the total cost of ownership of a fleet between 10 to 10 20%.
Thanks to the FordPass Connect modem, which has been standard on commercial vehicles since 2020, connected vehicles are at the heart of the Ford Pro integrated offering, enabling customers to maximize fleet productivity and uptime using available integrated solutions.
Ford Pro Software
The main tool will be Ford Pro Software which provides a connected digital ecosystem that uses real-time data to integrate vehicles, telematics, charging and assistance into powerful platforms that are easy to use and intuitive.
Fleets can also benefit from Ford Pro E-Telematics platform software to optimize the management of Ford connected commercial vehicles, transforming vehicle data into relevant information, including real-time location. health alerts and driver monitoring.
Fleets that are committed to transitioning to electric vehicles will also benefit from the dedicated functionality of the Ford Pro E-Telematics system, using real-time timing to help maximize fleet productivity, as well as effective and intuitive charging support functions.
Ford Pro Charging
Ford Pro Charging provides information related to current charging, a specific vehicle’s state of charge and remaining range with customizable reduced range alert thresholds. The system can also be configured to heat or cool the E-Transit’s battery and cabin before a shift via the Programmed Preconditioning feature, saving time and conserving battery power for the benefit of range.
To help customers transition to electric mobility, Ford Pro Charging offers a fully integrated, business-centric charging system for fleets capable of defining more effective charging strategies and implementing future-oriented solutions for European businesses.
The Ford Pro Charging service includes installation of hardware and management software that works seamlessly with the all-electric E-Transit. Built-in connectivity allows the system to detect potential problems even before customers are aware of them and resolve them with minimal disruption to operation.
To support fleets whose drivers take their work vehicle home, Ford Pro Charging also simplifies wallbox installation and management. And while most operators will only use public charging as a last resort to recharge their vehicles while on the job, Ford Pro Charging also provides access to over 300,000 chargers and centralized billing for ease and flexibility.
Transformed vehicles
Half of the vehicles in the Transit range sold in Europe are transformed to meet customer needs. The Ford Pro Special Vehicles team’s mission is to seek to understand customer requirements, providing transformations to increase their productivity.
The engineering expertise of the Special Vehicles teams makes it possible to deliver a range of special dedicated products that form the basis of the transformed vehicle, as well as upgrades in high performance components, auxiliary batteries and fuel systems, in addition to preparation packs for certain features, including beacons and electric trailer systems on both internal combustion and electric engine platforms.
