Brazil opened 136,189 formal jobs in March, the third month in a row with a positive balance, according to data from the Caged (General Register of Employed and Unemployed) released today by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The number is the difference between 1,953,071 new hires and 1,816,882 dismissals registered in the month.
Despite being positive, the result is less than half of the balance in February, when more than 329 thousand positions were opened.
In the year to March, the balance is 615,173 formal job openings. Now, the total number of formal jobs in Brazil is 41,293,528.
