International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has tested positive for Covid-19, the IMF said on Thursday, following a marathon of meetings last week with global financial leaders in Washington.
In an emailed statement, Fund spokesperson Gerry Rice said Georgieva “has mild symptoms and is working remotely while isolating at home.”
The IMF said Georgieva, 68, is fully vaccinated including booster shots and follows standard COVID-19 protocols from the institution and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
