The purchase of Twitter by billionaire Elon Musk dominated social media and traditional media this week.
Some users of the blue bird network were concerned about the direction the social network will take. Tags like #RIPTwitter and Goodbye Twitter were among the trending topics throughout the beginning of the week.
And if you were very dissatisfied and thought about deactivating your account, here’s a tutorial.
Many netizens, however, took the announcement as a joke and even before the sale took place, memes appeared with the possibility of negotiations.
And they quickly activated a joke from the “pavé uncle” level:
Lol ELON MUSK PURCHASED TWITTER but I downloaded it for free
— vyni (@juliamayumin) April 26, 2022
elon musk paid 44 billion to have twitter and I downloaded it for free from the playstore lol dumb
— mateus carneiro (@mateuxcarneiro) April 25, 2022
Some made a more philosophical reflection:
KKKK ELON MUSK PAID 44 BILLION AND I DOWNLOADED FOR FREE but in reality I paid with hours and attention thus becoming a slave to an industry that seeks to profit using my addiction to giving my information to companies in exchange for short bursts of empty pleasure

While others couldn’t bear to hear the same joke anymore:
It’s been about 15 tweets of “elon musk bought twitter and I downloaded it for free” on my screen I can’t stand it anymore
— Keyboard Dancer (@itsmedanzzz) April 25, 2022
And in the end, even the gringos surrendered to the uproar:
Elon Musk bought twitter for $43 billion.
All I did was just download it for free from the app store.
