Agrishow, the largest agricultural fair in Latin America, generated this week a record turnover of 11.243 billion reais in sales intentions of machinery and equipment for agriculture, storage and irrigation, the organizers of the event informed this Friday. The number exceeded initial expectations of 6 billion reais and represents a jump of 287% compared to the 2019 edition, the last one held in person before the covid-19 pandemic, in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
According to the Secretary of Agriculture of São Paulo, Francisco Matturro, for these numbers, “which are gigantic”, certain parameters need to be considered.
“We had a disorganization in the supply chain that raised the costs of components and prices (of the machines). We have a total disorganization in maritime traffic, and that also raises prices”, he said, citing that there was still an improvement in the technological level of the machines. in the last three years.
