Danish manufacturer Borg Automotive offers a range of rebuilt air conditioning compressors for electric vehicles and claims to be the sole supplier for the replacement market for many models.
Borg Automotive stresses that it is one of the few manufacturers in the world capable of rebuilding electric air conditioning compressors. The company recognized very early on that electric mobility was a trend for the future and decided to invest in the necessary technologies.
The first step consisted of a detailed analysis of the communication protocols between the air conditioning compressors and the engine control unit in the vehicles and carried out reverse engineering, in the supply system and in the internal constructions of the electric air conditioning compressor.

The Danish company has developed special testing equipment that is constantly updated to meet the testing requirements of new models of electric compressors, to ensure that all components work like the original unit.
Furthermore, Borg Automotive has created its own production stations with electrostatic protection, to ensure the correct handling of all sensitive parts for the electric compressors.

As a result, Borg Automotive is currently the only supplier of rebuilt air conditioning compressors for various electric vehicles: Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive (from 2014), smart fortwo Electric Drive (from 2011), Nissan LEAF (from 2011). From 2013).
