Do you feel bothered by the brightness of your cell phone screen? Today’s text is to teach you different ways to dim your phone. Blue light, for example, can make it difficult to sleep.
In addition to helping you deal with eye discomfort, some of the features also serve to save your device’s battery. Check out four tips for Android and iOS (iPhone).
1. Activate night mode/dark mode
When activating the night mode, everything that has a light background on the phone becomes black and less lit. Programs, notepad, apps, social networks (everything is different, except apps that don’t support the function).
This tint can make the screen easier to see and read in low-light environments. That’s why some people like to use the night mode hours before bed.
As the intensity of blue light becomes lower, this prevents its great impact on the eyes from harming sleep, for example — on Android, the night mode turns the screen orange.
How to configure on Android
Access the icon titled “Configure”. There you should find the “Screen” menu; Then select “Night Mode” from the options and enable this functionality in “Activate until dawn”.Still on the same screen, it is possible to choose the intensity of this feature.
NOTE: Some steps may change slightly or have other nomenclatures depending on the Android phone model.
On Android, the night mode ends up causing an orange tone on the screen.

Dark mode has a similar name, but works a little differently. On Android it can be found as “Dark Theme” within the same settings listed above.
When activated, it leaves screen items in black or shades of black to also save energy. The function is especially useful if the phone has an OLED screen.
That’s because this display technology does not have the so-called “backlight”, the constant illumination of the entire smartphone panel. With it activated, the black tone is really black and the image is of a better quality, besides being more comfortable to the eyes.
Dark mode still helps to optimize battery life on OLED screen devices. It uses organic light-emitting diodes (words that make up, in English, the acronym Oled), this type of display activates each little light individually. With feature enabled, this results in energy savings.
No Android
Within the “Configure” item, enter the “Screen” menu; select “Night theme” from the options and enable.
No iPhone
It works similar to Android. Once activated, the mobile turns light backgrounds into dark ones. Follow the step by step to activate night mode on iPhone with iOS 13:
Go to “Adjustments”; Proceed to “Display and Brightness”Within the “Appearance” option, select the “Dark” item. Image: Tilt
2 – Enable color inversion
Color inversion serves to do what the name says. For example, white text on a black screen becomes black on a white screen. And vice versa.
This setting can be done as a test to see which you are most comfortable using, especially if you need to use your phone for a long time in a row.
No Android
In “Configure”, go to the “Screen” menu; Then find “Dark Theme” in the options and enable this functionality.
No iPhone
Go to “Settings”; Proceed to “General”; Choose “Accessibility”; Continue to “Screen and Text Size”; Activate the “Smart Invert” switch. Here, screen colors are inverted, except for images, media, and some apps that use dark color styles.
NOTE: In this item it is also possible to activate an option called “Reduce White Point”. It serves to decrease the intensity of bright colors, which can be more comfortable on your eyes. Do the test.
3 – Choose adaptive brightness/auto brightness
Adaptive brightness is able to automatically adjust the light intensity of the screen according to the environment you are in. If the place is very bright, the display adapts the colors to emit less light. If not, it gets brighter.
No Android
In “Display” go to “Adaptive Brightness”;Then just enable the functionality in the button, on the right side of the screen.

No iPhone
The iPhone has a feature called “True Tone” which is on by default. It is able to automatically balance the display’s lighting through smart sensors, according to Apple: thus, the color temperature of the screen (warmer, cooler colors, for example) can be reduced. So less blue light is emitted when needed.
Go to “Settings” and then “Display and Brightness”; Activate the item “True Tone”
If you choose to turn off True Tone, the screen will remain constant in intensity and color even if the ambient light changes.
4. iPhone-only tips: ative o Night Shift
The function makes the color tone on the screen more yellowish, decreasing the intensity of blue light. It is ideal to configure during the night, reducing the impact of the cell phone disturbing sleep.
Go to the “Adjustments” setting option; Then select “Display and Brightness”;On the “Night Shift” screen, slide the switch to select the “yellow lighting” level as you wish.
