Mini has just taken the decision to suspend production of all its models with manual gearbox, due to problems in the component supply chain.
The news was learned by the British manufacturer Autocar, along with the English manufacturer, who will have revealed as a reason for these difficulties, not only the war that is taking place in Ukraine, but also the crisis that the world semiconductor market is currently experiencing.
At the same time, and according to Mini, to contribute to this decision-making, there is an increase in demand for the manufacturer’s models, forcing production stabilization measures, as a way of being able to respond positively to the market.
Mini had to suspend production of manual transmission vehicles due to supply chain problems
“Current circumstances, including the war in Ukraine and the shortage of semiconductors, are causing restrictions in the supply chain of components across the global automotive industry,” says the British brand in statements reproduced by the publication. This is why and as a way of “ensuring maximum production and meeting the growing demand from our customers, our product offering will have to be simplified”.
“This solution”, guarantees Mini, will therefore be “the most effective way to guarantee production stability, so that we can continue to supply all our customers with new Minis.”.

Finally, remember that Mini has not yet revealed whether this decision can, in some way, become definitive, this after, at the beginning of this year, it was forced to suspend production at the factory in Oxford, due to lack of of parts, due to the war in Ukraine.
In fact, the Mini was not the only one to suffer from this problem, because the “sister” BMW, like Mercedes-Benz and practically all the brands in the Volkswagen universe, have already had similar problems.
