The Miami GP in Formula 1 comes in the middle of two important races on the calendar, and could also be significant for the discussion of championship leadership.
In Imola we had a paradigm shift in the championship up until that point. Ferrari was considered the favourite, but it was Red Bull that profited the most and the Spanish GP will be an important milestone at the time, being the stage chosen for the presentation of the big upgrade packages by most teams. After Red Bull took a step forward with the update at Imola, Ferrari decided to bring forward an update to the US. Mattia Binotto revealed that the team will assemble the F1-75 “some new parts”, but stressed that this is not a big package of updates. However, as the new Miami layout is a medium-low load circuit, the team will respond with some aerodynamic refinements and it is assumed that the evolution of the power unit – used by Carlos Sainz in Imola – will be mounted on the two-seater.
After Red Bull recovered in Imola from the defeat of Max Verstappen in Melbourne, it is Ferrari that will want to recover from a difficult weekend, and return to the moment it was in when Leclerc dominated in Australia.
