Race days are back in the city of Guarda on the weekend of the 2nd to the 3rd of July in a bet by the Municipality of Guarda in collaboration with Clube Escape Livre. And, Alexandre Borges and Miguel Correia, the winners of the first two editions of Guarda Racing Days are already confirmed!
Guarda Racing Days is a race with unique characteristics in Portugal as it brings together the Rally, SSV, Off-Road and Off Road categories in a single race that also has the attractiveness of taking place on a circuit practically in the center of the highest city and in amphitheatre, which means that the audience has an extraordinary view of the track and their eyes reach much of it.
In a mixture of dirt and asphalt, Guarda Racing Days has always attracted great names in national motor sport. Armindo Araújo, Pedro Matos Chaves, Fernando Peres, Luís Cidade, Pinto dos Santos, Alexandre Borges, Manuel Correia, Santinho Mendes, Fernando Teotónio, Miguel Correia, António Matias, Filipe Campos, Rui Sousa and many, many others, have already run there. of them national champions.
And, as the weekend of great races in Guarda is approaching, riders are starting to get to know each other who don’t want to miss the call of the Clube Escape Livre. From the outset, the winners of the 2019 and 2021 editions (2020, due to the pandemic there was no proof) respectively Alexandre Borges and Miguel Correia, who have already confirmed their registration for the Guard. Alexandre Borges has already been national champion and Miguel Correia is one of the most promising drivers in the Portuguese Rally Championship. But also Pinto dos Santos in the famous Renault 4L that recently surprised at the Safari Rally, Rui Sousa in Isuzu and Manuel Correia in Mitsubishi, both in the TT category are some of those confirmed for the race days in the city of Guarda from 2 to 3 July.
Domingos Sport and ARC highlighted in Guarda
These are two of the most recognized teams for preparing cars for competition and both have already raced in Guarda where their respective colors stood out or even won. ARC repeats the presence of Miguel Correia this time in the Rally category and Manuel Correia in his usual and always spectacular Mitsubishi, in the Off-Road category.
Domingos Sport is betting heavily on Guarda Racing Days and will bring no less than six teams: Daniel Ferreira / Rodrigo Pinheiro in Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI, Hugo Ribeiro / Filipe Correia in Peugeot 205, Telmo Garcia / Maria Pereira in Peugeot 309, Gonçalo Horta / Diogo Ferreira in Renault Clio and, of course, Fernando Teotónio in Mitsubishi that provided so much fight and spectacle last year. Closing this excellent list is the presence of one of the biggest names in rallies in Portugal: Adruzilo Lopes. The Domingos Sport driver, who is accompanied by Paulo Leones, won this weekend the Mortágua Rally in the Promo Rally Championship and promises to be the headliner in the highest city.
A list that will certainly grow in the coming weeks and liven up the race days in Guarda, the city where the Municipality and Clube Escape Livre will present all the news at a press conference that will take place at the beginning of June.
