The commercial dollar started this Tuesday (5th) operating lower, awaiting monetary policy decisions from the Brazilian Central Bank and the United States. At around 9:30 am (Brasília time), the currency was down 0.56%, trading at R$5.044.
Yesterday, the dollar jumped 2.63% and closed at R$ 5.073 – the currency had not exceeded R$ 5 since March 18 this year (R$ 5.0158).
The value of the dollar published daily by the press, including the UOL, refers to the commercial dollar. For those who are going to travel and need to buy currency at exchange brokers, the value is much higher.
