BENGALURU, India (Reuters) – Coinbase is opening its non-fungible token (NFT) market to all users, U.S. cryptocurrency exchange announced on Wednesday.
Coinbase said that the NFT marketplace is in beta and the company is still working on adding more features to the platform.
First announced in October of last year, the platform opened to a “small number” of users in the United States in April and the company had said at the time that more users would be added from a waitlist in the next three to five weeks. , while the marketplace was being tested.
NFTs are a type of digital asset, which uses blockchain technology to record ownership of digital files such as an image, video or text. The popularity of these assets skyrocketed in 2021, but their growth has shown signs of cooling off in recent months.
