The arm wrestling between the PF delegates and the government occurs after Bolsonaro guaranteed, in January, that he would give a raise to federal police, prison agents and federal highway workers. The government, however, backed off and announced that it would grant a 5% readjustment to public servants.
The class felt betrayed, as it expected the use of R$ 1.7 billion from the budget for a career restructuring, which would grant a greater readjustment and other benefits to the police officers.
