The Vice President of the Republic, Hamilton Mourão, said this Wednesday (4) that the Union does not have the money to offer the adjustment requested by Central Bank servers. He also defended the government’s proposal for a linear increase of 5% for all civil servants, including federal police officers, who were promised a restructuring of their careers.
“Is it necessary? No, but it is possible,” the general told reporters at the Planalto Palace.
Mourão confirmed that the government’s decision at this time, even though it has not yet been made official, is for the general readjustment of 5%, and spoke of “the president’s retreat” on the categories of public security, in reference to the restructuring.
“There’s no money, right? It’s a reality. We who are public servants have to understand that a salary increase can only occur if there is a consistent increase in collection. When is there a consistent increase in collection? When does GDP increase”, said the vice president .
“We public servants have to understand that we didn’t lose their jobs, many people lost their jobs. Is the salary not adequate at the moment because of inflation? It’s not, but let’s wait for the opportunity so that this can be equalized.”
