The IPCA (Broad Consumer Price Index), the official inflation in the country, rose by 1.06% in April, after reaching 1.62% in March. This was the highest result for the month of April since 1996 (1.26%).
In the year, the indicator accumulates a high of 4.29% and, in the last 12 months, of 12.13%.
The data were released today by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics).
