Twitter shares tumbled in premarket business in New York this morning after South African billionaire Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and SpaceX, said that the social network’s purchase agreement is “temporarily suspended” .
At 7:18 am (Brasília time), Twitter’s share had fallen by 17.9% in the premarket.
“Twitter’s deal is temporarily on hold, pending details that support the calculation that fake and spam accounts actually represent less than 5% of users,” Musk said on his official Twitter account.
