Three races and three undisputed victories in the T8 category are the accounts that Nuno Tordo takes to Baja de Loulé 2022, one of the biggest challenges of the year, on very demanding tracks, where the team promises to try to maintain its unbeaten record with a view to winning the title. .
Started in Baja de Beja, the 2022 project, with one victory from the start, followed by two others, in Grândola and Oeste, runs smoothly, with race preparation being an absolute priority, completed later. for a winning tactic, which guarantees, at this time, great confidence, to face new challenges…
“The project for this year was very ambitious. We acquired a Nissan Navara Overdrive, which we enrolled in the T8 group – the only one accessible to private team exchanges – and so far we have achieved the full number of victories. The races are challenging, but the car’s competitive potential has helped to complete our performances and so far – with the exception of a slight technical failure, in the first part of the Baja de Beja – we have managed to beat our opponents” – starts with us. say the pilot.
“The bench on the right has been occupied by several navigators: We started with Ricardo Claro in Beja, then Nuno Rodrigues da Silva, sailed in the Grândola race and João Serôdio accompanied me in the West, he who should have been my companion this year, but who, for professional reasons, will fail many tests. So the consecrated Nelson Ramos will be the fourth navigator this year, on the tracks of the Algarve – his homeland, in one of the toughest Bajas of our Championship, both for the riders and for the machines.”
Very hot is expected for Baja de Loulé, which runs through part of the Tavira mountain range and many very hard roads in the lower Alentejo. Demolishing tracks for the tires – even more so because the same selective sector is covered twice – and very high temperatures inside the car, worry the team:
“It’s going to be tough, but it’s for everyone. Oeste Racing Competition is doing a fantastic job of pre-preparation, we have already secured enough tires for Baja and so we are prepared to fight for victory. We are ahead, but we haven’t won anything yet, so we have to stay as focused as we have been here.” – says the pilot, who concludes: “The objective is to win, to put ourselves even closer to the title, which we want to offer to our sponsors, team and supporters, from the first moment with us in this project.”
The Algarve race starts next Friday with the Administrative and Technical Checks and recognition of the Prologue (5.5 Km) which will be played on Saturday morning and will dictate the departure time for the 1st Selective Sector (160 Km) to go in the afternoon. The same sector will then be played on Sunday, with the final podium being scheduled for 16:30 at Estádio Algarve.
555 is the next number in Baja de Loulé 2022. Nuno Tordo / Nelson Ramos – Nissan Navara T8.
