The Castelo Branco Rally goes on the road from the 10th to the 12th of June and the scoring event for the Portuguese Rally Championship takes on a complete format again and presents a lot of news. The main one is the route which, in 2022, is completely new. There is not a single kilometer that has been used in the past. In addition, after a two-year break, Escuderia Castelo Branco revives the nighttime super special ‘Reconquista’ that takes the race to the heart of the capital of Beira Baixa.
After two years with an uncharacteristic format, the Castelo Branco Rally returns with full force. Scuderia Castelo Branco has prepared the first scoring asphalt event for the Portuguese Rally Championship to present a completely new course. There will be more than one hundred kilometers of new stages that will create different challenges for the competing teams. Of these, the main highlight goes to the special show ‘Reconquista’ which, in addition to the online transmission, will have three giant screens spread along the route so that the many fans can follow all the incidents.
The Castelo Branco Rally will have a new director, Nuno Almeida Santos, who will be responsible for coordinating the team that puts up 11 stages, covered on the 11th and 12th of June. The focus on sustainability is gaining more and more emphasis and the partnership with Valnor is intensified to make motor racing more and more environmentally friendly.
In addition to sporting and environmental news, the Castelo Branco Rally will focus on more and better communication. In addition to using the Sportity application, a channel where all official information is transmitted, in this edition a channel will be created on the social network Telegram so that subscribers can receive useful information about the course of the competition such as the beginning of the passage of cars, interrupted stages, entry of security cars and lock cars, and other safety information for the general public. Escuderia Castelo Branco also created a partnership with the social network Waze to provide useful information, such as roadblocks, parking spaces, entertainment areas and alerts and recommendations from the National Republican Guard and the Public Security Police.
“Scuderia Castelo Branco invested heavily in this year’s edition of the Castelo Branco Rally. We tried to present great news and we believe that, with this route, teams and the public will be very satisfied. In addition, we consolidated our environmental policy and tried to bring the rally to even more people, either by broadcasting it online or by placing screens on the super special. After two conditioned years, the assistance park is open to the public again, which is a very positive thing. We also highlight the enormous interest that the race is arousing. At the moment, many hotels are already sold out”, explained the race director, Nuno Almeida Santos.
The Castelo Branco Rally takes place from the 10th to the 12th of June and registration, which is ongoing, closes on the 3rd of June.
