Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) approved today a new readjustment in the values of the tariff flags. The biggest increase will be 63.7%, at the value of the red level 1.
Red tier 2 will increase by 3.2%. The yellow flag will go up 59.5%, while the green flag will continue without charge. The values take effect on July 1, and are valid until mid-2023.
The tariff flags are an extra fee charged, added to the electricity bills, indicating an increase in the cost of energy production in the country.
Since April 16, the green flag has been in effect in Brazil, when the end of the water scarcity flag was anticipated. With this, there is no additional amount charged on accounts currently. According to Aneel, it is possible that the scenario will remain that way until December of this year, since there was recovery of the hydroelectric reservoirs.
