The Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, said this Tuesday, 21, that it is a mistake to think that the management of Petrobras to be led by the future president, Caio Paes de Andrade, will be “more of the same”. Andrade will be the fourth president of the company during the government of Jair Bolsonaro and will replace José Mauro Coelho, who resigned yesterday.
“When I arrived at the Ministry, I brought a new philosophy, of competition. Petrobras needs to compete and that’s why I changed the president and the Board of Directors is being changed, because the company needs to prepare for a new time, of competition”, he said. . “Anyone who thinks we’re moving to more of the same is wrong.”
During the public hearing in the Chamber, the minister was asked about the responsibility of the Union for the nominations for the presidency and Board of Directors of the state-owned company. Sachsida has signaled that he agrees with the assessment. “And, when you name it wrong, it changes.”
“The government appointed the Board of Directors. In no way do I want to criticize the current board, in no way do I want to criticize President José Mauro, they are competent people and, certainly, they are doing what they believe is best for Brazil and I thank them so”, he said in response to the deputies.
