The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) opened on Tuesday, 21, a public consultation on the transfer that Eletrobras will make to the Energy Development Account (CDE), in order to contribute to the reduction of energy tariffs.
The transfer was designed to reduce the expected tariff impacts with the sale of the plants of the company that was privatized. With the new contracts, these plants will be able to sell energy on the free market and not just to distributors.
For 2022, the transfer of R$ 5 billion is expected to be applied to the Account, which makes up the formation of the tariff, until the first half of July, according to the agency. In other years, the proposal is that payments be made by April 30 in installments with varying amounts until 2047.
Altogether, the transfer is estimated at R$ 71.1 billion. Although the legislation provides for a total transfer of R$ 32 billion, the regulatory agency considered in the calculation the incidence of WACC (7.31%) on the resources that will be contributed annually.
Although the consultation is open from June 22 to August 5, the amount can already be considered in tariff reviews judged by the regulatory agency since Tuesday.
