The director of the CNTTL (National Confederation of Transport and Logistics Workers), Carlos Alberto Litti Dahmer, believes that the voucher that can be created by the federal government to help truck drivers is a “disrespect” to the category.
“This attempt by the government to create a fuel voucher, an allowance for fuel, is an insult to the category. These R$ 400 at the price of diesel, which is the great villain of truck drivers today, means on average 58 liters of diesel. What will the truck driver do with 58 liters of diesel when his monthly consumption is much higher?”, said Litti, in a video released to the press.
The voucher for truck drivers was considered this week by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL).
CNTTL defends, as well as other entities that represent the category, the end of Petrobras’ PPI (International Price Parity Policy), which links the domestic price of fuels to the international price of a barrel of oil and the dollar.
“The president (Jair Bolsonaro) needs to create the courage to face the central problem and not come with discredit that are crumbs for truck drivers. The diesel problem can be solved by your Bic pen [do presidente] when it ends with the end of the price of the international parity of Petrobras”, argued Litti. “It is not R$ 400 that solves the problem. The problem is President Bolsonaro with his Bic pen signing the end of the PPI. That’s the solution,” she concluded.
According to a report in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, after the recent negative reaction from truck drivers with the Jair Bolsonaro government’s proposal to create a “truck allowance” of R$ 400 per month, until the end of this year, the summit of the Palácio do Planalto articulates with Congress the possibility of increasing this amount.
The pressure is for the transfer to be expanded to up to BRL 1,000 per month, but the amount has not yet been defined.
