Polestar has just shown, for the first time, in public, its latest model, Polestar 5. A 100% electric Grand Turismo, for now, still in the prototype phase, but also promising predicates of respect, as is the case of 884 horsepower.
This new saloon, which the Swedish electric sports car brand intends to launch on the market only in 2024, was presented for the first time live at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, whose doors opened this Thursday. And in which Polestar 5 promises to participate in the famous Goodwood ramp climb, between today, July 23, and next Sunday, the 26th.
According to Polestar, the future sports sedan will go up the ramp twice a day, as part of the ‘First Glance’ group, which, in Portuguese, means ‘First Look’.
Although still in camouflage, the Polestar 5 is, in essence, carrying out another stage of its development, in charge of teams, both in Sweden and in the United Kingdom.

Moreover, according to the Swedish manufacturer belonging to Volvo, the model’s mechanical platform has been worked on by the team based in the United Kingdom, which has developed an exclusive welded aluminum chassis, capable of guaranteeing dynamic properties that can make the particularly attractive driving experience.
In Sweden, the development of the new electric powertrain continues, which Polestar promises to be the best in its category, which, in addition to the promise of a maximum power in the order of 650 kW, that is, 884 hp, should also benefit from an 800V architecture.
“The new powertrain we are working on will be the brand’s new benchmark for our high-performance cars”, says Polestar CTO and Head of R&D, Jörg Brandscheid, adding that “the combination of the best engineering of electric motors, with advances in light platform technology, it will result in cars that are truly spectacular from the driver’s point of view.”
In the opinion of Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, “Polestar 5 is a project that defines us as a company”, and “progressive design and advanced engineering set the tone for Polestar’s future.”
“We have a lot of talent, which allows us to create truly iconic EVs.”, concludes the same manager.
Remembering this 4-door electric GT is announced by Polestar itself as an evolution of the Precept, a prototype presented in 2022.
