The Vila Real Circuit is back on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of July, hosting the fifth stage of the WTCR 2022. Along with the WTCR, Vila Real will host the main Portuguese national speed competitions, in a weekend that epic, emotions and adrenaline are expected.
It is in this festive atmosphere that the MotoGP pilot of the KTM Factory Team, Miguel Oliveira, and ambassador of Hyundai, will compete, in the controls of the Hyundai i30N TCR, the stage of the Portuguese Speed Championship. It is no secret that the driver from Almada is a lover of four wheels and that he has participated in renowned national competitions on several occasions. As in the last race of 2021 at the Estoril circuit in which he took the podium, when he participated in the controls of the Parkalgar car, Miguel Oliveira once again shares the steering wheel with his father Paulo Oliveira.
This participation is another milestone in the 4-year partnership with the Hyundai Family. It is recalled that Hyundai Portugal and Miguel Oliveira celebrated the partnership in 2018, with the pilot having his first experience with the Brand behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 R5. Since then, there have been many special moments with Hyundai, highlighting the involvement in the development process of the Hyundai i20 Miguel Oliveira, a special and exclusive version of the Hyundai i20 that combines Hyundai’s DNA with Miguel’s “champion soul”. Miguel Oliveira – MotoGP rider for the KTM Factory Team
“For those who have adrenaline in their blood, I can’t say I’m going for a walk, but I’ll do my best. This invitation from Hyundai to participate in this event, which could be a rally, was something that was already foreseen and the cancellation of the Finland event only accelerated the process. In addition to being able to share the steering wheel with my Father, I am very happy to also have a reason to be closer to my fans and live in an environment different from my usual competitions.”
Sérgio Ribeiro – CEO Hyundai Portugal
“The participation of our ambassador Miguel Oliveira at the Vila Real Circuit, behind the wheel of the Hyundai i30N TCR, fills us with pride and we are sure that his presence will attract many fans to the event”, said Sérgio Ribeiro, CEO of Hyundai Portugal. “Since the beginning of the partnership, we have always had in mind to provide Miguel Oliveira with a 4-wheel racing experience and we took this opportunity to achieve this goal and celebrate our relationship”.
