The Moscow TsODD spread a message that all carsharing vehicles would be removed from the vicinity of the Moscow Kremlin for several days. The AvtoVzglyad portal publishes a map of the restricted area.
Until May 10, access to short-term car rental services will be limited. In the central part of the city, the function of starting and ending the lease will temporarily become unavailable, – the Moscow Deptrans said in a statement.
It is also reported that this measure was taken “in connection with the events.” Recall that from May 8 to 9, Victory Day will be celebrated in Moscow. On May 9, a military parade will take place on Red Square, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin is to take part.
At the same time, we must not forget that on May 3, two drones attacked the Kremlin. After that, the security services turned on the electronic “jammers” of GPS signals in the center of the capital. In this connection, users of navigation applications began to have serious problems in determining their own coordinates. The expulsion of carsharing from the vicinity of the Kremlin can be associated both with this circumstance and with the requirements of the security forces who ensure the safety of the parade.
After all, one of them could have assumed that the car-sharing car abandoned in the center could well be filled with explosives and thus turned into a powerful bomb to organize a terrorist attack during the holiday.
