This is how the governor of the Irkutsk region spoke, describing the state of affairs in the region.
The governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, noted in his speech about the state of the road surface that the asphalt is coming off the roads of the region along with the snow, and also called for a change in the very approach to the maintenance and operation of roads.
“We patch holes every year in the spring, and the next year we get the same picture, and sometimes even worse,” summed up Kobzev.
The governor urged to restore the coating with the help of modern materials, to clean the storm water inlets and culverts in time. In addition, he noted that cracks and potholes need to be repaired not only in spring, but also in autumn. And at the moment, 46% of the roads of the region’s backbone network are in a standard condition.
