BMW to update 4-Series and electric i4

According to BMW Blog, the Series 4 will see a light facelift, but it will not affect the model’s most controversial design element, the grille. It retains both shape and size. The changes will come down to upgraded optics: probably, the list of equipment will include lights with laser technology. Inside, the appearance of an updated steering wheel is expected, and finishing materials will become more environmentally friendly.
So far, information about the upcoming update of the family of the fourth series is unofficial – it came from insiders. They predicted a small increase in power for the Quartet, while the all-wheel drive version of the i4 with the M50 index will be the most powerful among electric ones, and the M440i will remain at the top of the range of modifications with an internal combustion engine.
The last time the fourth series was updated at the beginning of this year – then the BMW 4 series and M4 received the Live Cockpit Plus multimedia complex on Operating System 8. A curved display appeared in the cabin, already familiar from other models of the brand: a dashboard with a diagonal of 12.3 is combined under a single glass inches and a central screen of 14.9 inches.
In addition, at the same time, the “fours” received a standard Steptronic automatic, paddle shifters, a new transmission selector and Shadowline side window trim.
And starting this spring, for the fourth series, Sensatec leatherette upholstery, Aluminum Rhombicle trims and new exterior decor with red accents are offered for an additional charge. However, the update does not concern the Russian market – for a year now, BMW has suspended its activities in the country.
