The Poer KingKong came to replace the Great Wall Wingle 7 pickup truck: better equipped than the “seven”, which was sold for the same 2.8 million rubles, and cheaper than just Poer.
In early April, information about the Wingle 7 pickup truck was removed from the Great Wall Russian website. It had a 143-horsepower 2.0 diesel engine, a manual gearbox and part-time all-wheel drive. At the time of the end of sales for the car, they asked for 2.8 million rubles. For several days, the only pickup in the lineup was the more expensive Poer. He already has a 150-horsepower engine, and you can choose a gearbox – mechanics or automatic. But the prices are much higher: 3.45-3.75 million rubles.
The position of the junior truck was empty for a short time. The Great Wall Poer KingKong came to replace. The common name is not without reason. Poers have a common chassis, frame, two-liter 150‑horsepower diesel engine and body frame.
Despite the fact that KingKong is positioned lower, it is longer: 5641 mm versus 5403 mm. Up to 975 kg can be loaded into a body with a length of 1820 mm and a width of 1500 mm. And even if the car does not fit into the total mass of up to 2500 kg, which removes all restrictions on movement in the capital, the carrying capacity of up to 1000 kg also gives certain degrees of freedom.
The automatic transmission remained the privilege of the regular Poer. But KingKong offers a choice: in addition to the diesel engine, there is a gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 190 hp. With it, the gas tank increases slightly, from 78 to 80 liters, although this does not exactly compensate for the increase in fuel consumption.
In the front suspension there are double levers, at the rear, of course, an axle on springs. Clearance – 200 mm. Four-wheel drive is equipped with a lowering and rear differential lock.
In the initial Comfort package for the same 2.8 million that the Wingle 7 cost, there are two airbags, ESP, air conditioning, digital tidy, a media system with a 10.3-inch screen and a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors and heated front seats. An additional payment of 200 thousand rubles increases the equipment to Elite – and these are six airbags, climate control, a heated steering wheel, an eco-leather interior, light and rain sensors, and a 220 V socket.
