China accounts for 60 percent of global sales of electric cars and hybrids

From January 1, 2023, the policy of subsidizing the purchase of electric vehicles was canceled in China, but this did not affect the sales of such cars – in January-March they grew by a quarter compared to the result of the first quarter of 2022. Moreover, the Chinese bought electric cars and hybrids not only of local production, but also imported ones.

As for exports, during the reporting period, China delivered 775,000 cars to foreign markets, which is equivalent to 15 percent of the country’s total car production. Compared to the beginning of 2022, exports from China increased by 87 percent.
