Tesla had to stop production in China from April 29 to May 4 due to falling demand for electric vehicles. Even price cuts as part of the “price war” did not help.

The company timed the stop to coincide with one of China’s public holidays, Labor Day. In past years, production did not stop even for the sake of celebrating the New Year, the main local holiday.
