German writer went on an expedition to the Niva (video)

22 thousand kilometers on and off-road through Romania, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, the Pamir Highway and the Karakorum Highway.
Margo Flügel-Anhalt, a well-known German writer and traveler, went to the foot of the eight-thousander Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas. The 68-year-old German woman has already made several trips, as a result of which she has written books that have become bestsellers.
When traveling, a woman drives a car herself. For example, on an expedition to Laos in 2019, she drove 18,000 km in a Mercedes-Benz C 180. But for a new idea, she needed a different car – all-wheel drive, with a minimum of complex electronics and as maintainable as possible.
Therefore, Margo bought a used Russian Niva from a hunter from the Westerwald. On June 20, 2022, the writer, accompanied by a film crew, set off on a journey that ran through Romania, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, the Pamir Highway and the Karakorum Highway.
On May 10, 2023, a film directed by Johannes Meyer and Paul Hartmann dedicated to this interesting journey will premiere on German TV channels Südwestrundfunk/SWR and ARD. In the meantime, we can watch the trailer:
“Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
