This year, Astana Motors is faced with the task of deepening localization and increasing the number of Hyundai cars produced by the small-knot method, the press service notes. A new plant in Almaty will help to fulfill it, where various components will be produced – from seats to multimedia systems.
Astana Motors owns the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan assembly site with a capacity of 30,000 vehicles per year. Back in January, information appeared that the Kazakh company was showing interest in the Hyundai plant in Shushary. This is Hyundai’s third site in St. Petersburg besides Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus (HMMR) and the recently opened engine plant.
