Mini 3 doors: power and autonomy of the EV

A FEW MORE MONTHS – Four months after its official presentation at the 2023 Monaco Motor Show, the Mini released the first information on the new generation from the Mini 3 doortogether with some images that portray her still disguised, despite her definitive appearance has already been revealed by spy photos (Who to know more).
TWO VERSIONS – The new Mini electric will be offered in two versions that differ in power and autonomy: Cooper E with an output of 135 kW (183 HP) and a 40.7 kWh battery, which should guarantee a range of up to 300 km, and Cooper SE which reaches up to 160 kW (217 HP) and is equipped with a 54.2 kWh battery with a declared range of 400 km. The high-voltage lithium-ion battery is installed in the floor of the car to optimize road holding and weight distribution, while increasing the vehicle’s stability and agility.
OUTSIDE THE SAME, INSIDE DIFFERENT – The new Mini Cooper E ed SE are based on one new platform dedicated to the compact electric models of the BMW group, developed in collaboration with the Great Wall, and will be built in China. It shares the aesthetic aspect with the new generation of the Mini 3 door equipped with heat engines which, however, uses the same duly updated current structure. So underneath the skin the two cars are quite different.
THE NEXT STEPS – The gamma 2024 of the Mini will be composed of the new generation of the Mini Countryman (electric and thermal), which will be produced at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig from November 2023, from the new Mini 3 door (electric and thermal), and from Mini Acemana crossover offered only with electric motors that will be positioned between the Mini 3-door and the Countryman, replacing the Clubman.
