Owners of 220,000 Jeeps are asked not to park inside buildings. Cars can catch fire

The recall campaign covers about 132,000 Jeep Cherokees in the US, 23,000 in Canada, 3,000 in Mexico and 60,500 outside of North America. Due to the module being installed in a “water-vulnerable location,” owners of all potentially problematic Cherokees are advised to park away from buildings until the defect is fixed.

Stellantis is expected to send notifications to SUV owners by mail on June 30th. In the meantime, the concern is working on a way to solve a dangerous problem.
