BAIC U5 Plus sedans, assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, began to appear at Russian dealers. Cars in the Luxury configuration will cost about 1.83 million rubles. At the same time, it is not known exactly when sales will start: it was previously said that they would begin in May.
The BAIC U5 Plus comes with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine producing 113 hp. Cars with manual gearbox and CVT will be offered. The Luxury variant includes 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, a 12.3-inch multimedia system, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, a digital instrument panel, air conditioning, two airbags.

The day before, it was reported that dealers also had BAIC X35 crossovers assembled at Avtotor. Another model, the BJ40 SUV, will be on sale a little later. And in total, by the end of 2023, Avtotor intends to master the assembly of 14 models.
