Rare supercar De Tomaso Pantera from “Fast and the Furious” will go under the hammer

The 1972 supercar was one of the cars that MCU protagonists Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Connor stole from a train in the fifth installment of the franchise. Despite the fact that the car appeared in the frame for only a few seconds, the cost of the lot is likely to exceed the price of similar copies without a film biography.

Two years after the filming of the fifth part of “Fast and the Furious” in 2011, the current owner bought De Tomaso Pantera from the film studio. The new owner completely restored the sports car, restoring the paintwork and upholstery.

You can understand that this particular car took part in the filming by the missing windshield wiper, rear wheel and air conditioner. At the same time, a number of accessories were preserved in the car, which were installed specifically for the film. In particular, the coupe was equipped with a mass switch and a safety arc in the cabin.

The De Tomaso Pantera is powered by a Ford Cleveland V8 5.8 engine, equipped with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a Carter 750 carburetor. The box is a five-speed ZF “mechanics”. Auctioneers do not disclose the estimated cost of the car. At the same time, similar sports cars that did not participate in the filming are estimated on average from 100,000 to 150,000 dollars (approximately from 8 to 12 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

In early May, the Nissan Skyline GT-R from the Fast and the Furious was sold at an auction. For a sports car, prepared specifically for actor Paul Walker, paid a record $ 1.3 million.
