Subaru with a Ferrari engine – drone race video

It all looks sticky – like a computer game. The only thing missing is the instrument panel in the corner of the screen.
This 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is powered by a Ferrari V8 engine. And this is not a garage copy for the collection, but a combat rally car that recently participated in the Oregon Trail Rally. Below you will find a video of the race from the Portland International Raceway.
The car was built after its owner found a loophole in the championship rules. The all-wheel drive class allows naturally aspirated engines up to 4.5 liters displacement. There are no other restrictions. Then it was decided to equip the car with a Ferrari F136 V8 engine found in a California dump.
This 4.3-liter engine develops 460 horsepower and 485 Nm of torque. For comparison, the 2004 WRX STI 2.5-liter turbo engine has 300 hp. and 407 Nm.
There was enough space under the hood for the new motor. Even the subframe turned out to use the standard. At the same time, the cooling radiator was moved back to improve the weight distribution of the car along the axes.
Kia is preparing a competitor to Toyota and Ford. The car will receive an all-wheel drive system and a turbodiesel engine. “Behind the wheel” can now be read in Telegram.
