The Autohome portal has completely declassified the novelty of the premium brand General Motors, designed for the Chinese market. We are talking about GT4 – a compact cross-hatchback Cadillac, which can be considered a simplified analogue of the “younger” SUV XT4. The public premiere is expected in the summer, but thanks to photo spies and certification documents, all the key features are already known.
The length/width/height of the Cadillac GT4 are 4633/1878/1535 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2800 mm. In fact, we are talking about a classmate of the Audi Q5, adjusted for a lower body height. There are simplifications in terms of technology: the base GT4 will receive a small-capacity 1.5-liter engine (204 horsepower) in combination with an uncontested front-wheel drive.

The top version will have four driving wheels, and under the hood a bunch of 2.0-liter “turbo” and 8-speed automatic. However, they will certainly bet on a complete set with a 1.5-liter Ecotec engine: such a unit will save on taxes. No compromises are expected on equipment.

In the cabin, the GT4 will practically repeat the “senior” XT4. The five-doors will have an almost identical front panel, but the hatchback will feature a “floating” console with a transmission control washer and an original multi-wheel with a scattering of touch keys. The list of declared options includes a two-tone body and a “sporty” exhaust.
The Cadillac GT4 will be assembled at the SAIC-GM joint venture. The export prospects of the novelty are doubtful, because the model does not fit into the “global” strategy of Cadillac.
