CHANGE OF NAME – By now it seems almost certain that Audi will change the names of its cars, passing to even numbers for electric cars and odd numbers for combustion cars (Who to know more). For this reason the next generation ofAudi A4 should change name to Audi A5. Naming matters aside, as evidenced by the latest spy images from AutoExpressthe prototypes of this model are facing the final stages of testing in view of the presentationwhich should take place by the summer of 2023with the deliveries scheduled forearly 2024. Recall that the new A4 was initially supposed to debut in 2022, but was then postponed for a year due to component supply problems.
IT’S NOT A REVOLUTION – From what you can guess, the new one Audi A5 del 2024 it will represent an evolution of the current A4. The headlights will be more angular while the grill front appears reduced in height and wider. On the back, the images of the prototypes and the videos (below) show a new LED light signature, which crosses the entire width of the boot. AUTOMATIC ONLY – The rest of the range, both sedan and Avantinstead it should offer petrol and diesel engines, all of them mild hybrids and some plug-in hybrids, all mated to a 7 or 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Internal sources report that the new Audi A5 will still be built on the Violkswagen Group’s MLB platform, thus maintaining dimensions similar to those of the current A4. The modified rear structure should allow for a 14.4 kWh battery to be housed for the plug-in hybrid versions.
