The conveyor is up and running! 5 interesting facts about the assembly of Muscovites

Less than six months have passed since the restart of the Moskvich automobile plant in Tekstilshchiki. And now the transition to the next level is the beginning of the conveyor assembly.

As it was

Behind the wheel

Crossover Moskvich 3 was completely assembled in China. Then it was sorted out and in the form of a car kit came to Russia.

On the guard line (in fact, on conventional lifts), workers installed the removed units back.

Since the car was already ready earlier, all that remained was to connect the battery – and Moskvich 3 came to life. It was a DKD assembly – disassembled knocked-down.

Now everything is different.

1. Collect by detail

Separately, assembled bodies with interior and windows come. The chassis is assembled on a special line – from power units, suspension, exhaust system, fuel tank, which have never been “in the composition” of the car before.

Automated trolleys bring components to the line, including an assembled power unit on a subframe with steering gear, suspension arms and brakes. The exhaust system is assembled from individual components.

Now Moskvich 3 has a Now Moskvich 3 has a “wedding” – a technological operation of connecting a fully assembled body and chassis.

2. Use Renault platforms

Then, on the assembly line, the body is “married” to the chassis – at one post and in one operation. The chassis is assembled on platforms used in the production of Renault cars – their geometry can be changed. All modern car factories have largely flexible equipment. Moskvich is no exception.

3. Prescribed in Moscow

If earlier the car “came to life” in China, now the “software” is uploaded (via a Bluetooth tablet!) and the keys are initialized in Moscow, at the end of the pipeline. Then – the first launch and the first meters under its own power.

That is, Moskvich 3 as a car is born in Tekstilshchiki. And this is the assembly SKD-1 (semi knocked-down).

4. Develop production

One car is assembled in about seven minutes, that is, about nine cars per hour. Modernization of the conveyor for Muscovites continues – there is a plan to reach 30 cars per hour. This is actually the pace of Renault.

The equipment of the factory allows you to assemble up to nine models on two platforms! At the end of the year, they should master welding and body painting.

A huge welding shop with robotic equipment is operational. There is software for it.

The robotic welding shop is now being reprogrammed for Muscovites - the in-house production of bodies should start at the end of the year. The robotic welding shop is now being reprogrammed for Muscovites – the in-house production of bodies should start at the end of the year.

5. Experience underground

The test track left by Renault and located in the huge basement of the factory is already in full use. A big plus of this solution is that the quality assessment does not depend on the weather. All collected Muscovites are tested in stable conditions.
