According to the parliamentarian, an affordable car for the population should cost no more than 500,000 rubles and have a 1.5-liter engine with up to 120 hp. with., manual transmission, as well as increased ground clearance. Yes, clearance is an important parameter for operation in Russia, where motorists do not drive along roads, but directions.
In addition, Sergey Mironov believes that such options as air conditioning, frontal airbags, ABS, a stabilization system and an ERA-GLONASS module must be included in this amount.
Of course, such a car will be popular only if the price is affordable – about 500 thousand rubles, and this will become possible only thanks to powerful state support. This means that a special national project is needed. Otherwise, we are doomed to an aging fleet, an increase in deaths and injuries on the roads,” said deputy Sergei Mironov.
It’s just that it’s simply unrealistic to produce cars for that kind of money now: prices have risen literally for everything – from components to logistics. The same LADA Granta, which a couple of years ago cost a little more than 400,000 rubles, is now cheaper than 700,000. Partially, the stimulation of demand is periodically promoted by the state support program, which allows saving up to 20-25% of the cost of a car. But this measure is just a drop in the ocean.
