WEATHER FAULT – Adverse weather led the FIA stewards to delete il Emilia Romagna Grand Prix 2023 Of Formula 1 scheduled for Sunday 21 May. The decision, the result of discussions between Formula 1, the FIA, the competent authorities, the Automobile Club of Italy, the Emilia Romagna Region, the Mayor of Imola and the promoter, was taken in order not to put further pressure on the area, brought to its knees by the torrential rains of these days, which caused 6 victims, floods and over 5,000 evacuated. The president of the ACI and vice president of the FIA, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, said that this edition it will be recovered in 2026, following the extension of the current contract. Even F1 has published a note in which it officially communicated the cancellation of the race, expressing its solidarity with the families of the victims and with the entire affected community.
