The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class has got a six-cylinder engine

On the Mercedes-Benz E 450 4Matic modification, the gasoline engine will develop 380 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, and a 48-volt starter-generator will add up to 20 horsepower during acceleration. The alternative is the Mercedes-Benz E 350 4Matic with a 2.0 turbo four (259 hp and 400 Nm) and a similar hybrid add-on.

The dynamics and fuel efficiency of American sedans are not disclosed, but it is known: the maximum speed will be limited at around 130 miles per hour (209 kilometers per hour). For comparison, the European flagship — the plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz E 400 e 4Matic — produces 381 horsepower and 650 Nm, and acceleration from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour takes 5.3 seconds.
