Today, more than 26 thousand cameras monitor violations of drivers on the roads of Russia. This figure is given in their report by specialists from the Scientific Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (NTs BDD).

At the end of last year, there were 23.8 thousand stationary photo and video recording complexes, which is 21.1% more than at the end of 2021. But mobile cameras decreased by 5.7% over the year, and today their number is 3.2 thousand pieces.

The vast majority of cameras record speeding – 72.7%. Another 13.1% monitor the exit into oncoming lanes, and 10.9% of the complexes record violations of road signs and markings. 10.8% of cameras recognize driving at a prohibiting traffic light, and 8% recognize driving over a stop line. 4.4% of devices monitor public transport lanes, 2.5% of cameras monitor illegal stops. Non-passing of a pedestrian at a crossing is capable of fixing 2.4% of the complexes.

Percentages do not add up – modern cameras are able to recognize several types of violations at once.

Each complex of photo-video fixation fixes on average 6.8 thousand violations per year. For example, the Strelka-Plus complex costs about 500 thousand rubles. If the average fine is 560 rubles (data from Russian Standard Bank), then the complex “earns” 3.8 million rubles a year, paying off almost 8 times.

That’s what Porsche can become. And this is only the beginning of the story, the full version of which we will see in the summer. “Behind the wheel” can now be read in Telegram.
