Volvo switches to rear-wheel drive

Volvo will sell rear-wheel drive models in the US for the first time in 25 years. We are talking about electric vehicles C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge. The family survived the transition from front to rear wheel drive last fall.

Rear-wheel drive Volvo electric vehicles are more affordable than all-wheel drive options and have a longer range: according to the EPA cycle, it is 472-478 km against 409-414 km for models with two motors and two drive axles.

Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent, as promised by Volvo, will take approximately 28 minutes.
