Volkswagen has introduced a new budget sedan Lavida XR in China. It is produced at the SAIC-Volkswagen joint plant. In fact, this is a simplified version of the Volkswagen Virtus for the Indian market.
A set of units could please potential buyers in Russia: under the hood is a 1.5-liter atmospheric gasoline engine (110 hp, 141 Nm) in combination with a 6-speed manual or a classic hydromechanical automatic machine.
Simplification is expressed in a set of options: there is a solid back of the rear sofa, there is no climate control sensor unit and power seats. But there are diode optics, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, cruise control.
The novelty is expected to go on sale in May. Price data is not yet available.
